Muotech at Muographers 2026

18.06.2026

One of the most exciting aspects of working with muon technologies is the breadth of applications they continue to unlock.

At Muographers 2026,hosted by HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics in Budapest, Muotech contributed to this conversation from two complementary perspectives.
Dr. Noemi Zabari presented research exploring the feasibility of applying muon scattering tomography to low-contrast medical imaging scenarios.
Kate Katrankova introduced the CMOS Cosmic Ray Detector (CCRD), a software platform that turns widely available CMOS sensors into cosmic-ray detection tools without dedicated hardware.

While our day-to-day work is focused on solving inspection challenges in critical infrastructure, Muographers 2026 was an opportunity to share research that explores a wider range of applications for muon-based technologies.

It was a pleasure to exchange ideas with colleagues from across the global muography community and contribute to the ongoing development of this emerging technology domain.
